A double hour of happiness

Especially now at the turn of the year, wishes are often heard. Wishing each other health, success – and also good luck. But happiness can also be learned, as cornelia bauerlein, a happiness teacher, is currently trying to explain to her students at a middle school in the district. A conversation about the prerequisites for being happy, about the training to become a happiness teacher and the ultimate happiness tip.

What is happiness?

Work on the new bridge at the western entrance to the town, near the pommersfelden parish hall, has recently begun. In a report from 2017, the bridge over the rich ebrach was described as "dilapidated" has been classified. The bridge was designed for a load-bearing capacity of twelve tons, a value that is no longer appropriate for today’s traffic conditions. Today, a load-bearing capacity of 60 tons is required for new bridges.

The bridge in pommersfelden connects the main road in the town with the state road 2263 hochstadt-burgebrach. For the construction site, the access road, which was also used by school buses, had to be completely closed off. The closure will last until the end of november, the municipality reckons.

"You can do it!" these were the words of family and friends when they heard that susanne reinhardt was going to run for mayor of the thermal spa town. "I can!" the 41-year-old is also convinced of this herself. When asked why voters should vote for her, her answer comes without much thought: "I bring experience and skills from my job, I have assertiveness, I stand up for my opinion."

And why does she do this to herself: the election campaign for the mayor's post, with countless appointments and public attention?? "Because the office of mayor is an interesting, varied and fulfilling task. It is not a job from 8 a.M. To 4 p.M., but a task that must be lived. The office of mayor has an honorary component, even though it is remunerated." whereby the keyword "remuneration" is "salary" that in a comparable position in the private sector, a higher income could be achieved. The mayor of a town like bad rodach is an A15 grade employee.

Bavaria: cell phones in schools - yes or no?

Bavaria's schools are to decide for themselves in the future whether and to what extent the private use of cell phones is permitted in school buildings. This is the result of a round table to which bavaria's new minister of education, bernd sibler (CSU), invited around forty representatives of parents, teachers and schools, as well as external experts, to the ministry of education.

"the unanimous will at the round table was to delegate more decision-making freedom to the schools", said sibler after the meeting. So a "school forum" could be established on site find pragmatic solutions for cell phone use outside the classroom that are adapted to the school by teachers, parents and schoolchildren. These could then be laid down in a school contract.

"Learning with head, heart and hand is the motto of the montessori school mitwitz. In order to make the students strong for life, the school not only focuses on pedagogical quality, but also teaches the young people skills for coping with everyday life. This concept is convincing more and more parents, as was shown by the pleasing results at the members’ meeting of the montessori association in and around kronach.

The school has grown again: to 327 students, 100 of them in the elementary school and 203 in the secondary school in mitwitz, as well as 24 in the montessori technical high school (MOS) in kronach, as oliver salomon, board member for school development, reported. With 66 employees, it is now a medium-sized company. To ensure that the children and young people from the districts of kronach, lichtenfels, coburg, kulmbach and sonneberg get to class on time in the mornings, the school has set up twelve bus routes. With the offer of the MOS the last building block for the realization of the vision to accompany the children with montessori pedagogy up to the high school graduation was set, emphasized salomon.

At short notice, the municipal council, representatives of the fire department and the school administration were invited to the school swimming hall on monday evening by mayor karsten fischkal () in order to learn facts about the ceiling damage in the swimming hall from the structural engineer of the engineering office for structural engineering welker, michael welker, and from sebastian berger of the municipal technical building office and to discuss the further procedure.

"It's about the safety of our children, so we can't take any risks", says fischkal, who had already closed the swimming hall on friday afternoon. After janitor marco boco discovered the sagging ceiling, architectural firm harald fuchs and structural engineer michael welker were commissioned to investigate the damage.

This is what the 80s sounded like: when canon conquered the sale

With falcos "commissar beats for rudiger schoberth, who since time immemorial all "roger" call, the rough hour: dressed in a trench coat and armed with an XXL magnifying glass, the saxophonist enters the stage and mimes the detective, while his band colleagues hammer the world hit into the keys/drums/strings. A special show interlude, with which the members of the formation like to root their performances.

Classic eighties-music is the mainstay of the eight-headed group – from new german wave of the brand markus ("ich will spab") and trios "dadada" up to rocking ballads a` la REO speedwagon ("keep on loving you"). But their love for funk and soul: roger schoberth and his blaser-twin erich wochele can never hide it. "It was clear that we also wanted to play kool& the gang with ‘celebrate’ absolutely had to have in the repertoire", says wochele, who, like his partner, learned the musical basics at the kulmbach boys’ band.

The speakers stood on four beer crates

There is a certain cicero – certainly not unknown to high school students – who has been said to have been one of the rudest orators for 2000 years. Uber die redekunst has written a long work, which has been preserved to the regret of many a generation of latin school students. The school issue featured a roman orator standing tall before a non-existent audience with his arm outstretched and his gaze straight ahead.
The students of the ehrenburg-gymnasium (EGF) did not have to measure themselves against his noble attitude in bronze when they took part in the school finals of the "jugend debattiert" competition entered. But the audience was very much there, crowding the four disputants – from a purely spatial point of view – with many more students in the double classroom than there were chairs to fit into it. A challenge for anyone who has to speak up front. Nothing works without a microphone or headset. And then there are the rather rigid competition conditions for the final: only just before the start of the debate round did the four participants find out whether they had to argue pro or contra. In the meantime, her teacher thomas lukat slipped into the role of moderator and asked the whole school to endure two rounds of debates.

Like in ancient rome
And there it was: headset on! The winners of the secondary two preliminary round – kira franke, kilian hollfelder, michael straulino and pascal quicker – stood behind the four beer crates that had been transformed into lecterns with white signs stuck on them. Nothing there with nice armchairs and neat little desks in front of them, with water glasses and small writing utensils, like in the talk show on tv. Robust as in the roman courthouse (rarely noble women's marble, mostly blob a corner in the gemusemarkt) it went in the EGF. "Timekeeper" tom burgard clarified the time rules again and then it was kira franke's turn in position pro 1 to give her statement on whether comfort rooms should be set up in the ehrenburg for the schools.
No easy task in such ancient roman conditions. Well, no one has haggled over the minimum wage during the debate. There were also no cheeky interjections. However, in the course of the half hour, several school heads sank downwards, already parallel to the increase in the carbon dioxide content of the indoor air.
Her opponents, as well as her opponent in the pro-two position, scribbled notes and catchphrases on the sheets of paper. Eyes mostly downcast. When they made their own contribution, they did look at the audience.
Tough conditions for a debate, one can only say. And for that, the four of them put up a really brave fight, put together some good factual arguments and kept to the rules of the game. And remained factual, factual, factual. Sparse gestures, hardly any emotion, and certainly nothing striking. The jury of two fellow students and a teacher did not like that at all. But pascal quicker received a slight reprimand for occasionally raising his voice with emotion.
